stereotype of mine

I'm ashame, but I commit myself to the wrong steroetypes of countries from former Yugoslavia...(coming back from a conference in Macedonia)

1) before "they are all heavy smokers" after "yes, most of them smoke but they can actually smoke outside and let the inner air free of stinky smell"

2) before "they only eat meat" after "they eat a lot of meat indeed but a good OC will order food just to adjust to your need, a little bit more vegetable, not so enough but great great improvement already"

3) before "the city looked urgly, a lot of ruins from post-war" after "Skopje is rich in history and a harmony of Muslim and Christiananity; Ohrid is AWESOME, the lake is so romatic!!!"

4) before "the living environment is not clean" after "it is not as clean as in westen europe but at least in the hotel they tried to keep it clean and they did put effort into it"

5) before "people are somehow depressed, maybe not as happy as I-don't-know-whom" after "people enjoy their lives very much with hopes"

6) before "parties must be bad if people smoke a lot and the hotel's shitty" after "parties could be so cool in a real CAVE although it is a bit cold but alcohol and dances will warm you up immediately"

long list.... actually, just wanna say, this conference was a great great experience, again motivation floating around the air, faci's great although I was not part of it ; ), delegates were nice and interesting, alcohol was much more responsible, OC......they were just simply the BEST!

hope this set up the standard for the future OC or CC or whatsoever you call them.

thank you again, Macedonia!

different levels of excellence

there must be different levels of excellence for one simple thing - my flatmate must at a much higher level of excellence when cleaning is concerned. Although I've spent 1.5 hours cleaning the common place (kitchen and toilet in total 4 squre metres) using 5 different kinds of chemical stuff plus water and vaccum cleaner, but I still received a note afterwards saying that "Wing, I am not sure how far you've gone with the cleaning but please clean the table around the sink and clean the floor of the kitchen using vaccum cleaner and soup and water, see you!"....

This is just rediculous! but I still try to put up to her standard, so I started again! I mean I've did exactly what she wrote fully on an A4 paper giving instruction on "how to clean (that 4 squre metres space)" but it is obviously not good enough. After another half an hour hard work, the table still looks the same with a bit white shadow which I don't know coming from when in the history and it just stayed there no matter how hard I applied the chemical cleasing stuff... and actually you can only see it when you come to a certain perfect angle!

Okay, I just can't take this anymore, I've tried my best, and to be honest, I am a really responsible person when it comes to cleaning, but if I am forced to reach a level of excellence that I could not climb up to, I'd give up and do something else more usuful, like looking for a job in Germany for this summer...
